Description: This course provides a pathway to a recognised tertiary entry qualification and foundation skills for further study at Certificate 4 level. 
Entry requirements: Certificate II or equivalent skills and knowledge. 
Learning pathways: This course articulates into the Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation.

Depending on the units completed, this course:
- may satisfy pre-requisite requirements for further study at tertiary level
- will provide skills and knowledge for vocational study at Certificate IV level. 
Career opportunities: This course provides opportunities for employment requiring a Certificate III qualification.

About: Certificate III Pathways to Further Study (Year 11 equivalent) is offered in Semester 1 and is the preparation course to Certificate IV 10224NAT course - Tertiary Preparation Course (TPC).

Volume of Learning

Your learning commitment for this qualification is a minimum of 360 supervised hours There is an expectation that you will engage in a range of activities to support your supervised learning which may include:
• Independent study
• Work placement or simulated workplace activities
• Research and projects
• Preparation of assessment tasks
• Field/industry visits
• Tutorials
• Learning support

Required student skills This is a Certificate III level course. Skills to study effectively include research and interpretation of information, referencing, time management and ability to work on projects and or in a team.

Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete partial or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
