Description: This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:
* develop employability skills and knowledge at AQF level 1 to retrain or enter the workforce
* identify realistic education, employment or community engagement goals and appropriate training pathways, including pre-vocational pathways
* participate in a formal, supported or self-managed learning environment 
Entry requirements: There are no essential educational requirements for this course. 
Learning pathways: 10583NAT Certificate l in Access to Work and Training provides pathways into 10580NAT Certificate ll in Study Skills and other training package qualifications and accredited courses.
There are no formalised articulation arrangements in place for this qualification. 
Career opportunities: This course is a step in a series of courses to further training in employability skills. It helps you go on to further training and to get a job.

Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete a part or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.

About: This course is for learners who have basic computer skills and would like to consolidate and extend these skills for employment, community involvement and personal use. The course includes spreadsheets, word processing, using digital technology for workplace tasks and employability skills such as communication and teamwork skills.
