Description: This course requires a person operating a forklift truck to plan the work, conduct routine checks on a forklift truck, shift loads in a safe manner, and safely shut down and secure equipment after completing operations.
A person performing this work is required to hold a forklift truck high risk work (HRW) licence. 
Entry requirements: You must be over 18 years old before the assessment date.

About: Training/Assessment will be conducted at Steeline Batemans Bay and Pambula at a date to be determined.
You will need to provide 100 points of identification at the start of the assessment. A list of approved ID can be found on the SafeWork NSW website, http://www.safework.nsw.gov.au/ and will be provided to you in the training materails.
You will need to wear appropriate clothing (PPE), steel capped boots, pen, note paper and calculator.
You will also require a Unique Student Identifier (USI). To obtain a USI, visit https://www.usi.gov.au/
TAFE NSW reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient numbers and will endeavour to give participants as much notice as possible. Upon cancellation by TAFE NSW a full refund is made.

Your learning commitment for this qualification is a minimum of 23 supervised hours There is an expectation that you will engage in a range of activities to support your supervised learning which may include:
• Independent study
• Work placement or simulated workplace activities
• Research and projects
• Preparation of assessment tasks
• Field/industry visits
• Tutorials
• Learning support

Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete a part or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
