Description: TAFE NSW is offering a short course in Bar Skills that will give you the experience and confidence that you need to apply for the job you would like or start to gain experience in a career that you are interested in. In this course you will gain a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), a Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) as well as training for working in a Bar environment. This skill set will also give you 4 units that may go towards further study in the Hospitality industry. 
Entry requirements: This course requires that you pay an external Licensing fee that will go to Liquor and Gaming NSW for the issue of your RSA and RCG licenses. At this time, this comes to $100 for both.
All participants enrolling in to this course will require a Unique Student Identifier (USI) - www. usi.gov.au 
Learning pathways: This short course will give you units that are included in many Hospitality Training Packages.

IMPORTANT: You cannot renew your RSA and/or RCG competency in this course.
Liquor and Gaming NSW will contact you by email and/or SMS before your current competency card expires with instructions on how to renew your RSA/RCG via their online portal. You must ensure your contact details are current with Liquor and Gaming NSW for them to be able to contact you.

It is essential you enrol with your correct ID and address details as Liquor and Gaming NSW will not issue a Competency Card unless all details are matched. E.g.: Enrol using all names including middle names and residential address as shown on proof of identification documents.
You will be required to provide identification, please bring photo ID with you on the day you enrol and/or to the course.
An RSA/RCG Competency Card allows you to work lawfully in the liquor and gaming industry.
It is valid for five years. You must have your physical or digital competency card available at work.

Getting your RSA/RCG Competency Card.
Your interim certificate will allow you to work in the industry for up to 90 days. To apply for a card take your interim certificate and original identity documents to a participating Service NSW Service Centre, where you will have your identity verified and a photo taken that will appear on your card. Visit service.nsw.gov.au or call 13 77 88 to find the closest service centre that accepts competency card applications and for identity document requirements.

Digital Licences.
You can now get your RSA/RCG competency card as a digital licence on your smartphone or tablet.

- aged 17 years or older
- live or work in New South Wales
- have left school

Wanting to kick start your hospitality career? Like to try something new? Then this is for YOU!
This course has been created for students over 18 who are looking to work in a bar or restaurant.
This short course in Bar Skills will give you the experience and confidence that you need to apply for that job. You will gain basic bar skills in making and serving drinks. This skill set will also give you 4 units that may go towards any future study in hospitality.
TAFE NSW reserves the right to cancel a course if there are insufficient numbers and will endeavour to give participants as much notice as possible.
Applying and enrolling: Before you enrol you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you don’t already have a USI, you can easily create one at https://www.usi.gov.au/students/create-your-usi. Once you have your USI, you can add TAFE Illawarra to your USI account via the Manager Permissions page on the USI website.
