Description: TAFE NSW is offering the Childcare Community an opportunity to update their credentials and remain compliant with legislative and policy frameworks. This short course will give you the unit that you need to remain compliant with legislative and policy frameworks. An onsite assessment will be conducted after the workshops to complete training.
This skill set will also give you 1 unit that may go towards further study in the Childcare industry. 
Other requirements: All participants enrolling in to this course will require a Unique Student Identifier (USI) - www. usi.gov.au 
Entry requirements: This skill set is suitable for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher.

About: TAFE Illawarra is now offering a short course in Child Protection. This course is the current unit of competency which describes the skills and knowledge required to support and protect children and young people who are at risk of harm.
This course is useful for a range of job roles providing services to children and young people including child care, community services and health contexts.

This course contains Nationally Recognised Unit of Competency - CHCPRT001

Course fees: $185
Fee explanatory text: Cancellations should be advised in writing more than 7 days prior to commencement of the course to be eligible for a full refund. For cancellations advised within 7 days of the course no refund will be made however a substitute delegate may attend. If a substitute delegate is to attend you must contact us before the course commences. There are no fee exemptions available for commercial courses. Course fees cannot be refunded to participants who are unable to attend for reasons beyond TAFE NSW control. TAFE NSW reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient numbers and will endeavour to give participants as much notice as possible. Upon cancellation by TAFE NSW a full refund is made.

Recognition:
Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete a part or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
