Description: This one day workshop in Trauma Informed Care is aimed at those currently working in the health and community services sector and other similar sectors. Trauma refers to extreme stress that can overwhelm a person’s ability to cope. This training will offer an understanding on how trauma affects the lives of individuals and communities and provides a framework in which to respond with sensitivity and a strength based approach. 
Entry requirements: For those already working in the health and community services sector and other similar sectors

About: This 5 hour workshop will be conducted on Thursday 5 July 2018 at TAFE NSW, Wollongong Campus, Block A, Floor 2, Room A 2.19. 9.30am - 3.00pm.
This workshop is aimed at those currently working in the health and community services sector and will focus on the key principles and practices of trauma informed care. It will include information about how to recognise and respond to behaviours and distress related to trauma. Participants will develop skills in assisting individuals effected by trauma to identify personal resources, strengths and coping strategies. This is accredited training and there will be assessment requirments.

This 5 hour workshop will be conducted on Thursday 5 July 2018 at TAFE NSW , Wollongong Campus, Block A, Floor 2, Room A 2.19. 9.30am - 3.00pm.
 
Course fees: $100
Fee explanatory text: Please enrol and pay the fee at least 7 days prior to the start date to secure your place.
Cancellations should be advised in writing more than 7 days prior to commencement of the course to be eligible for a full refund. For cancellations advised within 7 days of the course no refund will be made however a substitute delegate may attend. If a substitute delegate is to attend you must contact us before the course commences. There are no fee exemptions available for commercial courses. Course fees cannot be refunded to participants who are unable to attend for reasons beyond TAFE NSW control. TAFE NSW reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient numbers and will endeavour to give participants as much notice as possible. Upon cancellation by TAFE NSW a full refund is made.
