Description: This qualification allows individuals to develop post-trade skills and knowledge to become specialists within the agriculture industry. It is designed to meet the needs of supervisors or team leaders in the agriculture industry.

Would you like to take your Agricultural studies to the next level? Learn about the Industry that produces the food and fibre we use every day. This Certificate IV in Agriculture provides competency based vocational education to enable you to achieve the practical skills and the underpinning knowledge required to apply these skills to their employment in an agricultural enterprise. Graduates of this course will be able to perform the duties of a supervisor, overseer or foreman on properties engaged in agricultural production. They will also be able to implement and monitor work, health, safe working practices and quality assurance practices to industry standards as well as being able to implement and monitor farm programs such as herd health, pastures and farm improvements. Completion of Certificate III Agriculture or significant industry experience and demonstrated study skills is a prerequisite to Certificate IV Agriculture.

The Certificate IV in Agriculture will enable learners to achieve competence to the level of Certificate IV of the Australian Qualifications Framework, so that they can be employed as a supervisor in an agricultural production enterprise.

This course consists of 12 units of competency. It is expected students will complete this course in 1 year. This course can be delivered flexibly so you can work from home and develop your skills within you farm or workplace. A inidvidual study program can be designed in consultation with you teacher.

This is a Certificate IV level course. Skills to study effectively include research and interpretation of information, referencing, time management and ability to work on projects and or in a team.

Comments: Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete a part or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
