TAFE NSW will be offering this course for Trainees and Apprentices during 2017

This course is available for people employed as a Trainee or an Apprentice (which ever applies) and currently working in a related industry area.

You will need to provide a copy of your signed Training Plan which you will receive from your Australian Apprenticeships Centre representative.

Learners must be employed as a NSW apprentice and be registered with the Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) to be enrolled in this offering. Evidence of the apprenticeship (TPP) must be sighted.

Volume of Learning:
Your learning commitment for this qualification is a minimum of 989 supervised hours There is an expectation that you will engage in a range of activities to support your supervised learning which may include:
• Independent study
• Work placement or simulated workplace activities
• Research and projects
• Preparation of assessment tasks
• Field/industry visits
• Tutorials
• Learning support

Required student skills:
This is a Certificate III level course. Individuals undertaking this course will be required to undertake one or more of the activities listed above.

Comments: Recognition:
Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete partial or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
