Scheduled attendance: Classes will be held on every second Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm and you will complete additional work in your own time. This course runs for 36 weeks

About: This course provides you with the skills needed to become a quality systems auditor. You will be expected to attend 18X2 hour workshops and tutorials. Outside of class you will be expected to complete another 12 hours of self directed study including assignment preparation, study and online tasks. Your classes will be held every second Thursday evening 6pm-8pm.

In semester 1 the workshops will be held 8 February, 22 February, 8 March, 22 March, 5 April, 3 May, 17 May, 31 May and 14 June 2017

Your learning commitment for this qualification is a minimum of 300 supervised hours There is an expectation that you will engage in a range of activities to support your supervised learning which may include:
• Independent study
• Work placement or simulated workplace activities
• Research and projects
• Preparation of assessment tasks
• Field/industry visits
• Tutorials
• Learning support

This is a Diploma level course. Skills required include essay writing and referencing, typing skills, computer literacy, reading and analysing material and resources, problem solving, the ability to be a self- direct learner, advanced communication skills and manage time effectively If you think you might need help with choosing, enrolling in or completing your course check out TAFE Illawarra’s support-for-learners website. You’ll be able to complete self-assessment checklists, find specialist information and locate the contact details of staff to help with your individual needs.

Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete partial or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
