Description: This Skill Set reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders in a range of contexts.

Leadership often begins at the team leader level across a wide range of enterprise and industry contexts. Team leaders communicate effectively, ensure team performance and develop effective relationships in the workplace. Across the breadth of industry, team leaders are responsible for implementing operational plans.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this skill set at the time of publication. 
Entry requirements: There are no entry requirements for this course. 
Learning pathways: The units provide credit towards BSB42014 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.

About: Your learning commitment for this qualification is a minimum of 18 supervised hours.

There is an expectation that you will engage in a range of activities to support your supervised learning which may include:
• Independent study
• Work placement or simulated workplace activities

• Preparation of assessment tasks
• Field/industry visits
• Tutorials
• Learning support

Required student skills This is a Certificate IV level course. Skills to study effectively include research and interpretation of information, referencing, time management and ability to work on projects and or in a team.

Comments: Your first class will be Thursday 16 February 2017. Please meet your teacher in the foyer of G Block Shellharbour campus at 5.30pm. Please bring a folder, USB, a pen and some paper to your first class.

Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete a part or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
