Description: This course delivers the basic foundations and content for students to develop the skills and knowledge used in the building and construction industry, specialising in brick and blocklaying techniques.

You will learn about brick/block types, brick/block accessories, glues, brick/block patterns and cement mortars.

You will also learn how to lay bricks and blocks using different bonds, including laying of brickwork/blockwork for domestic, commercial, industrial and public buildings, as well as how to construct ornamental panels, feature walls, arches and columns. 
Entry requirements: There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

However, before enrolling in this course you must successfully complete the WHS Induction Training (White Card) which will allow you entry into a construction worksite.

Comments: Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete a part or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.

About: Certificate III Bricklaying / Blocklaying Wollongong Full Time Day

This course is for Non Apprentices/Trainees. You will need to have access to a computer as our theory material and assessments will be electronic.

You will learn the basic foundations and content to develop the skills and knowledge used in the Bricklaying industry to efficiently produce quality work.
You will also learn about safe work practices and about the context of the Bricklaying industry.
This qualification consists of 21 core units and 6 electives

Your learning commitment for this qualification is 864 hours There is an expectation that you will engage in a range of activities to support your learning which may include:
• Independent study
• Work placement or simulated workplace activities
• Research
