About: You will learn the basic foundations and content to develop the skills and knowledge used in the Cleaning industry to efficiently produce quality work.
You will also learn about safe work practices and about the context of the Cleaning industry.
This qualification consists of 3 core units and 8 electives.

Your learning commitment for this qualification is a minimum of 150 supervised hours.
There is an expectation that you will engage in a range of activities to support your supervised learning which may include:
• Independent study
• Work placement or simulated workplace activities
• Research and projects
• Preparation of assessment tasks
• Field/industry visits
• Tutorials
• Learning support

This is a Certificate II level course. Skills to study effectively include reading and writing to interpret information, the ability to work a team, receive and act on instructions and communicate with others.

The fee displayed for this qualification is the standard first qualification or traineeship fee (where applicable) for training subsidised by the NSW Government.
The full qualification fee for students who do not meet eligibility for training subsidised by the NSW Government is $ 3060 You can pay your fee up front or enquire about an Instalment Plan.
You can pay for this course in instalments payable throughout the duration of the course. Your fee or instalment plan need to be finalised at enrolment.
Please note that TAFE Illawarra does not accept cash. Payment may be made by Credit Card, EFTPOS, cheque or money order made payable to TAFE Illawarra.
Other information: Students are required to provide and wear their own personal protective equipment during lessons. This includes long sleeve work shirt, trousers, safety shoes . Also required is a scientific calculator and pen and note book. The approximate cost for these items will be $250

The candidate will be required only to purchase notebooks for creation of a personal journal. This may be used as an aid when doing formative assessments.
Cancellations should be advised in writing more than 7 days prior to commencement of the course to be eligible for a full refund.

Course fees cannot be refunded to participants who are unable to attend for reasons beyond Illawarra Institutes control.

TAFE NSW reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient numbers and will endeavour to give participants as much notice as possible. Upon cancellation by TAFE NSW a full refund is made.

Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete partial or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
