Description: This qualification reflects the role of individuals who work in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural arts context and produce work that shows a well-developed command of technique in their chosen art form.

Practice at this level is underpinned by application of broad and integrated technical and theoretical knowledge and the ability to analyse and use information from a range of sources.

Your learning commitment (known as the volume of learning) for this qualification is a minimum of 1226 nominal hours.
There is an expectation that you will engage in a range of activities to support your supervised learning which may include:

• Work placement or simulated workplace activities

• Preparation of assessment tasks
• Field/industry visits
• Tutorials
• Learning support Required student skills This is a Certificate IV level course. Skills to study effectively include research and interpretation of information, referencing, time management and ability to work on projects and or in a team.

Comments: Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete a part or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
