Description: This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in business analysis in an information and communications technology (ICT) environment, either as an independent ICT specialist or as leader of a team. Individuals who complete this qualification will be competent to analyse, identify and coordinate relevant ICT business solutions to meet given organisational goals.

About: This is an Advanced Diploma level course. Skills required include essay writing and referencing, typing skills, computer literacy, reading and analysing material and resources, problem solving, the ability to be a self- direct learner, advanced communication skills and manage time effectively.

Volume of Learning Your learning commitment for this qualification is a minimum of 600 supervised hours There is an expectation that you will engage in a range of activities to support your supervised learning which may include:
• Independent study
• Work placement or simulated workplace activities
• Research and projects
• Preparation of assessment tasks
• Field/industry visits
• Tutorials
• Learning support
Required student skills This is an Advanced Diploma level course. Skills required include essay writing and referencing, typing skills, computer literacy, reading analysing and creating material and resources, advanced problem solving, the ability to be a self- direct learner, advanced communication skills Check that this is the right course for you and you have the appropriate entry requirements. This is an information technology course with an analysis focus. Please consider the following carefully -
a) The course is designed to be completed on-the-job for people working in the IT industry in a professional multi-server ICT environment, there are no classes and no need to attend TAFE. However you need to do all the work, research and documentation yourself with some guidance from myself;
b) There are no formal pre-requisites but we highly recommend you have a diploma in IT or at least 3 years work experience in a professional multi-server ICT environment;

Applying and enrolling: Before you enrol you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete partial or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
