About: Trainee Only Trainees will be contacted by their teacher and will provide the Learning and Assessment plan for each unit of competency. Students will be required to provide their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).


Your learning commitment for this qualification is a minimum of 480 supervised hours There is an expectation that you will engage in a range of activities to support your supervised learning which may include:
• Independent study
• Work placement or simulated workplace activities
• Research and projects
• Preparation of assessment tasks
• Field/industry visits
• Tutorials
• Learning support

Applying and enrolling: Before you enrol you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you don’t already have a USI, you can easily create one at https://www.usi.gov.au/students/create-your-usi. Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete a part or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
