Description: This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use a range of well-developed retail travel or wholesale sales and operational skills and sound knowledge of industry operations to coordinate travel services. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in the retail travel or tour wholesale sector for employers that cover or specialise in leisure, corporate, domestic or international sales.

Work could be undertaken in an office, shopfront, or online or mobile environment.

Possible job titles include:
call centre sales agent corporate consultant cruise consultant customer service agent domestic travel consultant incentive coordinator international travel consultant mobile travel consultant online travel consultant reservations sales agent wholesale consultant.

This will be an orientation day where you will be provided with your timetable, uniform, textbook list and a student orientation package. Please also note this is your first day of class and you will need to be prepared to stay for the whole day.

Volume of Learning:
Your learning commitment (known as the volume of learning) for this qualification is a minimum of 814 hours. This includes approximately 560 of face to face training. You will need to allocate the remaining hours to engage in a range of activities to support your learning which may include;
- Independent study
- Work placement or simulated workplace activities
- Research and projects
- Preparation of assessment tasks
- Field/industry visits
- Tutorials
- Learning support

Required student skills:
This is a Certificate III level course. Individuals undertaking this course will be required to undertake one or more of the activities listed above.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use a range of well-developed events administration or operational skills and knowledge to complete event-related work activities. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence under the guidance of more senior event personnel, using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities. Events are diverse in nature and this qualification provides a pathway to work for event or exhibition organisations operating in a range of industries including the tourism and travel, hospitality, sport, cultural and community sectors.
The diversity of employers includes event or exhibition management companies, event venues, or organisations that organise their own events. Work could be undertaken in an office environment where the planning of events takes place, on-site at venues where events are staged or a combination of both.

Recognition:
Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete a part or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
