Description: A set of skills to equip individuals for serving alcohol responsibly.

Pathways Information Achievement of this unit provides credit towards qualifications in tourism, travel, hospitality, events, holiday parks and resorts in the SIT Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package.

Licensing/Regulatory Information Certification requirements apply at a state and territory level to individuals involved in the sale, service and promotional service of alcohol in licenced premises. Certification in some States relies on the achievement of SITHFAB002 Provide responsible service of alcohol.

Responsible service of alcohol (RSA) legislative and knowledge requirements differ across borders. Those developing training to support the RSA unit must consult the relevant state or territory liquor licensing authority to determine any accreditation arrangements for courses, trainers and assessors. 
Entry requirements: There are no entry requirements for this course. 
Career opportunities: This skill set is for personnel involved in the sale, service, and promotional service of alcohol in licensed premises. It also applies to the licensee who is ultimately responsible for managing the responsible service of alcohol.

About: You can get your competency card through Service NSW Service Centre, go online to their Locator or call 13 77 88 to find a Service NSW centre that can process your competency card (not all Service NSW centres can do this).
You must visit Service NSW in person. Other people can’t apply for you. Bring your interim certificate from your first competency training course and identification totalling 100 points. You will not get your competency card if you bring unacceptable identification documents, the details must exactly match your interim certificateand must be originals not photocopies. Service NSW will take your photo and ask for your signature as part of the application. Your card will arrive by mail in four weeks.
Once you receive your card, you can also download a digital competency card from the Service NSW App. Visit the Service NSW website for more information on how to set up your MyServiceNSW account and download your digital RSA/RCG Competency Card.
