Description: This course is conducted for Roads and Maritime Services to accredit a qualified and licensed motor mechanic who is already a Light Vehicle Safety Check Proprietor/Examiner, to perform inspections in, and to operate an RMS Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Station (AUVIS). 
Entry requirements: To enrol in this course you must have successfully completed the Course/s in RMS ASCIS Proprietor and Examiner - Light Vehicle.

You must be a licensed mechanic with a Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology - Light or Heavy Vehicle.
To enrol in this course, you must also possess an ’Approval for Training’ letter issued by the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS).
Contact the Roads and Maritime Services Inspection Program Services on 1300 791 186 to request an application form to become an authorised examiner and/or proprietor to be sent out to you.
This course is managed by TAFE NSW Illawarra Institute which manages and co-ordinates delivery of this program for TAFE NSW.

Learning pathways: This course is an integrated part of the RMS Training Program comprising courses in the Roads and maritime Services Authorised Inspection Station Scheme (Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle, Gas Vehicle and Unregistered Vehicle).
This course does not articulate into any other RMS training programs.

About: You must have completed ASCIS Light Vehicle in order to enrol in AUVIS Unregistered Light Vehicle.

The Prerequisite for the AUVIS course is ASCIS AND an Approval Letter from the Roads and Maritime Services.

Students CANNOT attend an ASCIS, AUVIS or HVAIS training program without approval from the Roads and Maritime Services. Contact RMS Inspection Program Services on 1300 791 186 to request an application form to become an authorised examiner and / or proprietor to be sent out to you.

• Course fees cannot be refunded to participants who are unable to attend courses for reasons beyond the Institutes control

• There are NO fee exemptions for commercial courses

YOU MUST PAY FOR THE COURSE TO COMPLETE YOUR ENROLMENT.

Approximately 7-10 days before the training date, the TAFE AIS Training Project Officer will send you a letter confirming the start times and what you need to bring. For further enquiries, please ring

Cancellations should be advised in writing more than 7 days prior to commencement of the course to be eligible for full refund. For cancellations advised within 7 days of the course no refund will be made however a substitute delegate may attend. If a substitute delegate is to attend you must contact us before the course commences.

Courses with insufficient enrolments will be cancelled. TAFE NSW reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient numbers and will endeavour to give participants as much notice as possible. Upon cancellation by TAFE NSW a full refund is made.

Appropriate footwear (steel capped) and clothing (long pants or overalls, long sleeved shirts ALL MADE FROM COTTON) should be worn for a workshop environment. Clear safety glasses. NO thongs or joggers. You will not be admitted into the training without the outlined safety gear.
