Description: TAFE NSW is offering a short course in Basic Barista Skills. This will give you the experience and confidence that you need to apply for the job you would like or start to gain experience in a career that you are interested in. In this course you will learn how to handle food in a healthy way and how to prepare and serve a range of coffees.This is a practical hands on class in a simulated industry environment. This skill set will also give you 2 units that may go towards further study in the Hospitality industry. 
Entry requirements: All participants enrolling in to this course will require a Unique Student Identifier (USI) - www. usi.gov.au 
Learning pathways: Certificate III or IV in Hospitality Training Packages 
Career opportunities: Barista work in a Cafe or Restaurant

About: TAFE NSW is now offering a short course in Basic Coffee Barista Skills. This course is designed to help you gain employment in a Restaurant, Café or anywhere coffee preparation is essential. This course includes Use Hygiene Practices for Food Safety and Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee. Through this course you will learn the basics needed to make a range of coffee as well as food safety requirements. This is a practical hands on class in a simulated industry environment.

Students will be expected to spend approx 4-6 hours per week outside the classroom on directed activities and self-directed learning such as research; preparation of assessment tasks; learning support; online learning. The expectation is that by enrolling in this qualification you commit to the time frame in which the qualification is being delivered. The proposed study schedule will be discussed and an individual training plan will be established. Should you fall behind your agreed schedule you will be required to complete additional work and learning outside scheduled class time.

Cancellations should be advised in writing more than 7 days prior to commencement of the course to be eligible for a full refund. For cancellations advised within 7 days of the course no refund will be made however a substitute delegate may attend. If a substitute delegate is to attend you must contact us before the course commences. There are no fee exemptions available for commercial courses. Course fees cannot be refunded to participants who are unable to attend for reasons beyond TAFE NSW control. TAFE NSW reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient numbers and will endeavour to give participants as much notice as possible. Upon cancellation by TAFE NSW a full refund is made.

Fee explanatory text: This training is not subsidised by Government funding. There are no fee exemptions, concessions or subsidies available for this course.

Where Fee for Service is being sponsored by an employer or third party organisation an official purchase order or contract arrangement must be in place to activate the student’s enrolment.
Payment of course fee must be made PRIOR to commencement of learning activity.
Please enrol and pay the fee at least 7 days prior to the start date to secure your place. The fee for this course is $300.
