Description: This course is for apprentices in the carpentry and joinery trade. You will learn how to produce work suitable for residential and commercial applications. 
Entry requirements: Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCWHS1001 covers this requirement.

Students must be an apprentice to complete this course. If you are not an apprentice, please contact the teaching staff on 131601 to discuss your options prior to enrolment, as other training options may be available.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Policy: Students are required to supply and wear PPE. This includes safety boots, cotton drill trousers, long sleeve shirt and safety glasses.

You need to be employed and registered as an apprentice Carpenter and Joiner to enrol in this offering. TAFE NSW, Wollongong must have received a copy of your Training Plan Proposal prior to enrolment.

Fee explanatory text: This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, and as a result your fee is determined through Training Services NSW formal eligibility criteria. This criteria will determine your exact fee. Students who meet additional specified criteria, may be eligible for a concession fee or a fee exemption. In claiming the concession or exemption students will be required to supply the required evidence to support the claim in accord with the requirements of Smart and Skilled eligibility.

Payment Plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

To activate your eligibility you must pay the student fee component PRIOR to commencement of the learning activity.
