Description: Develop your English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills with the Certificate III in Spoken and Written English. If English is your second language, this course is for you. You will learn how to use formal and informal English to improve your study and employment options.

- Australian Core Skill Framework (ACSF): Level 2

Learning pathways: 10729NAT Certificate III in Spoken and Written English is a component of the Certificates in Spoken and Written English, English as an additional language curriculum framework.

10729NAT Certificate III in Spoken and Written English prepares learners for entry into Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English for Further Study or the 10726NAT Course in Spoken and Written English for Job Seeking.

CSWE provides underpinning English language and numeracy skills that can be applied to entry into vocational and/or further study pathways.

There are no formalised articulation arrangements in place for this qualification.

About: 10729NAT Certificate III in Spoken and Written English is a component of the Certificates in Spoken and Written English (CSWE), English as an additional language (EAL) curriculum framework. It is an intermediate course for learners who have had either formal or informal exposure to English and who have already developed a basic level of English language competence and numeracy skills, but require ongoing English language learning opportunities. It provides English language learning for EAL learners, primarily targeting newly arrived migrants and refugees who need to develop routine language skills to participate in a range of community, further training or employment contexts. The certificate also includes elective numeracy modules for those EAL learners who may need to develop routine numeracy skills.

This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:
English language proficiency at the equivalent of International Second Language Proficiency Ratings (ISLPR®) 3, +, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 5.5, or Common European Framework (CEFR)B2 English language proficiency to meet some performance features of Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) 3 indicators.
Target group: Target Student Group Category: People who have English as an Additional Language (EAL) including migrants and refugees and other cohorts from non-English speaking backgrounds.

Course fees: $7,030
Fee explanatory text: This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, and as a result your fee is determined through Training Services NSW formal eligibility criteria. This criteria will determine your exact fee. Students who meet additional specified criteria, may be eligible for a concession fee or a fee exemption. In claiming the concession or exemption students will be required to supply the required evidence to support the claim in accord with the requirements of Smart and Skilled eligibility.

Payment Plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

To activate your eligibility you must pay the student fee component PRIOR to commencement of the learning activity.
