Description: TAFE Illawarra is now offering a short course in Basic water rescue that will give you the experience and confidence that you need to gain experience in a career that you are interested in. In this course you will learn basic water rescue techniques. This skill set will also give you 1 unit that may go towards further study in the Health industry. 
Entry requirements: All participants enrolling in to this course will require a Unique Student Identifier (USI) - www. usi.gov.au

About: This course provides the national competency - SISCAQU002 Perform basic water rescues and fulfils re-accreditation requirements for people who work in the aquatic environment including physiotherapy assistants, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists & hydrotherapists.

You will be contacted by a teacher from the Sport & Recreation Department at TAFE NSW Shellharbour within 14 days of registering on-line. You will be provided with specific course details and location at this time. It is anticipated that you are a competent swimmer and physically capable of performing a contact rescue in deep water which involves towing another person for a distance of at least 20m.
