Description: TAFE NSW is offering a short course in Water Fitness that is designed for people who would like to make water activity and fitness a part of their career. In this course you will learn how to help people build cardiovascular fitness and strength covering all age groups and fitness levels. This skill set will also give you 4 units that may go towards further study in the fitness industry. 
Other requirements: All participants enrolling in to this course will require a Unique Student Identifier (USI) - www. usi.gov.au 
Entry requirements: Certificate III in fitness or a relevant health/fitness qualification ie. physiotherapy, physical education, nursing, occupational therapy, exercise science, human movement science and sport - with anatomy and physiology component) 
Support for students: TAFE NSW has a range of support services available including support for students with disabilities, extensive library and information services, career advice and counselling, children's centres and support for multicultural or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. At InfoFest you can attend information sessions to hear from teachers about specific course content and delivery, and have all of your questions answered. You’ll also get the opportunity to tour the campus and view our state-of-the-art facilities, guided by friendly and informative staff, happy to assist you with course information, help with your enrolment, or provide you with great career advice.
Registration for information sessions and tours opens in May, so please check back for listed options at each location.

You should be a competent swimmer. To gain registration as a fitness instructor in the aquatic environment you must be completing or have completed SIS30315 Cert 3 Fitness or equivalent.

This course comprises 24 hours of face to face delivery. The fee covers teaching and assessment hours and pool hire.

You will be required to complete at least eight hours of work placement in a facility with appropriate resources and water based fitness activities. You will need to submit video files comprising at least eight different water based fitness sessions.

Fee explanatory text: This training is not subsidised by Government funding. There are no fee exemptions, concessions or subsidies available for this course.

Where Fee for Service is being sponsored by an employer or third party organisation an official purchase order or contract arrangement must be in place to activate the student’s enrolment.

Payment of course fee must be made PRIOR to commencement of learning activity.
