About: **STUDY COMMITMENT**

This is a face to face part time evening course. You will need to attend approximately 3 hours of class, 1 evening a week, for 64 weeks over 18 months.

You may also be required to complete approximately 6 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including independent study and research.

This course offering is designed for people who:
- are wanting to gain the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of basic tasks when repairing, maintaining and painting the automotive body of cars and other vehicles.
- are wanting to complete a Certificate II in Automotive Body Repair Technology.

Applying and enrolling: Before you can start an apprenticeship, you first need to find an employer in the industry you’re interested in that will support you through your studies. You and your employer should contact an Apprenticeship Network Provider (ANP) and tell them you’re interested in studying at TAFE NSW.
The ANP will help you and your employer to complete a Training Contract. Once you have a Training Contract, we will help you, your employer and the ANP to complete a Training Plan Proposal. Once you have both these documents, the ANP will lodge them with State Training Services, who will provide further advice about next steps.

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:
- seeking to gain skills and knowledge to become a qualified Automotive Body Repair Assistant or Vehicle Detailer after successful completion.

To successfully complete this course, you will need:
- to provide and bring to each session appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include:
safety glasses, gloves, safety footwear, suitable clothing such as cotton drill work wear and other equipment (e.g. ear protection or respiratory masks) in line with industry requirements for their workplace or worksite.

An important next step is to attend your first day of class on Tuesday 11 February 2020, from 6.30pm at TAFE NSW Wollongong, Block U, Level G, Automotive Workshop. Please bring this receipt to orientation.

You will be provided with a timetable, assessment guides, advice about additional materials you may need to purchase and information on the support services available to you.

Students are required to provide and bring to each session appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include:

Activate your student portal account which allows you to check your results, see fees and payments, and download your timetable.

To activate your account, go to https://my.tafensw.edu.au and login with your username and password, which was created as part of the online enrolment process and/or included on your receipt. Call us on 131 601 if you need it to be reset.

Once logged in, change your password and create 3 secret questions and answers.

Speak with customer service staff on campus to get your TAFECard which gives you special access to printing, copying and other services.
