**STUDY COMMITMENT**

This is a blended part time course. You will need to attend approximately 8 hours of class a week, 1 day a week, for 90 weeks over 3 years.

**IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?**

This course offering is designed for people who:
- are currently working in the Heavy Vehicle Road Transport repair industry and have an apprenticeship. On successful completion of course credit will be given towards Certificate IV qualifications.

Applying and enrolling: Before you can start an apprenticeship, you first need to find an employer in the industry you’re interested in that will support you through your studies. You and your employer should contact an Apprenticeship Network Provider (ANP) and tell them you’re interested in studying at TAFE NSW.

The ANP will help you and your employer to complete a Training Contract. Once you have a Training Contract, we will help you, your employer and the ANP to complete a Training Plan Proposal. Once you have both these documents, the ANP will lodge them with State Training Services, who will provide further advice about next steps.

Other information: **COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS**

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:
- an apprentice (you will work in industry and study at the same time)
- employed full time
- signed up with an Apprentice Network Provider and have a Training Plan Proposal
- seeking to gain skills and knowledge to become a qualified Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technician after successful completion

To successfully complete this course, you will need:
- complete a knowledge assessment, a skills assessment and workplace evidence for all units.
- to apply yourself to the task at hand and successfully complete all assessments.
- to provide and bring to each session appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include: safety glasses, gloves, safety footwear, suitable clothing such as cotton drill work wear and other equipment (e.g. ear protection or respiratory masks) in line with industry requirements for their workplace or worksite.

**STUDY COMMITMENT**

This is a face to face part time day course. You will need to attend approximately 40 hours of class a week, over 5 consecutive days every 6 weeks, for 3 years.

**IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?**

This course offering is designed for people who:
- Are an apprentice and currently working in the industry. However, it is also available as an alternate trade pathway for existing workers who have experience in the industry.
- Who are required to perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of heavy commercial vehicles in the automotive service and repair sector.

If you are not an apprentice, please contact the teaching staff on 131 601 to discuss your options prior to enrolment, as other training options may be available.
