Description: This course is for construction workers who need to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding and associated equipment. Scaffolders plan, build and erect scaffolding and working platforms for construction projects, as well as building stands and tiered seating for public events such as concerts or sporting events.

The course covers planning, erecting and dismantling modular and tubular scaffolding. You will learn how to build modular and coupler scaffolds, fall protection devices, catch platforms and bracket scaffolds. You will also learn about associated scaffolding operations. 
Entry requirements: Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCWHS1001 covers this requirement.

This is a Part Time Evening, Face to Face course. You will need to attend approximately 8 hours of class, over 2 days a week, for 19 weeks.

You may also be required to complete approximately 55.2 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including On-site skills training and take home work and assignments.


This course offering is designed for people who:
- Are working in the scaffolding industry and have an acquired knowledge of the scaffolding industry requirements prior to commencing this training program. This prior knowledge includes:
safe work practices, risk assessment and control, communication skills, teamwork, basic scaffold erection and dismantling skills (performed under supervision and under four metres in height), equipment movement, stacking and storage skills.


Learners undertake this qualification to gain High Risk Work (HRW) licensing in Forklift operation, Basic and Intermediate Scaffolding as well as to gain the full Scaffolding certificate III allowing scaffolders to work un-supervised whilst performing scaffold work.

Fee explanatory text: ”**ADDITIONAL RESOURCES**

You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:

Personal Protective Equipment - hard hat, safety boots and gloves.
Pens, pencils, paper, ruler and a calculator.
On completion of the SafeWork assessment the students must apply for the high risk licence at the post office where a passport size photo is required and a fee of approximately $75 per licence class must be paid within 60 days of the SafeWork assessment being completed.
Other information: **COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS**

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:
- Employed in the Scaffolding industry (or perform Scaffolding tasks as a large part of your workplace requirements) or have recent industry experience of at least 25 weeks.

To successfully complete this course, you will need:
- To undertake SafeWork NSW assessments in the Forklift, Basic Scaffolding and Intermediate Scaffolding. To be eligible to undertake the SafeWork assessment the learners are required to provide 100 points of identification to the SafeWork NSW accredited trainer/assessor prior to starting the assessment. Licence units require the applicant to be of 18 years of age. Intermediate Scaffolding require the completion of Basic Scaffolding. On successful completion of the SafeWork assessment the students must apply for a licence at the Post Office within 60 days of the assessment.
