Description: This qualification reflects professional accounting job roles in financial services and other industries, including tax agents, accounts payable and accounts receivable officers, payroll service providers, and employees performing a range of accounting tasks for organisations in a range of industries. Individuals in these roles apply solutions to a range of often complex problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They apply initiative to plan, coordinate and evaluate their own work and provide guidance to others within defined guidelines.

Work functions in the occupational areas where this qualification may be used are subject to regulatory requirements. Refer to the FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the relevant regulator for specific guidance on requirements.

This qualification includes units that comprise an approved Tax Practitioner Board (TPB) course in Australian taxation law and commercial law, which are relevant for registration as a tax agent. Persons seeking registration with the TPB should check current registration requirements with the TPB, as registration requirements are reviewed regularly. 
Entry requirements: Completion of the FNSSS00014 Accounting Principles Skill Set;
OR Completion of FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting or equivalent;
OR Completion of FNS40215 Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or equivalent.

**STUDY COMMITMENT**

This is a full time, face to face course. You will need to attend approximately 18 hours of class, over 4 days a week, for 18 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 8 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 5 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, assignment preparation and practice in using applications such as MS Excel and accounting software.

**IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?**

This course offering is designed for people who are typically continuing their studies from the Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping. Students are predominantly new entrants in the sector who are extending their formal qualifications. Some students may choose the pathway of the Diploma of Accounting as a segway into higher education, such as a Bachelor of Accounting.

Other information: **COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS**

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you have one of the following:
- FNSSS00014 Accounting Principles Skill Set; OR
- Completion of FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting or equivalent; OR
- Completion of FNS40215 Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or equivalent

Students may be contacted by Student Services or a member from the Skills Team to verify the required entry requirements.

Please note the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) levels indicated in section 2.2 are not to be used as a barrier to enrolment. TAFE NSW as noted in Section 2.2 will provide student(s) with the required language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) support to successfully complete the course.

Activate your student portal account which allows you to check your results, see fees and payments, and download your timetable.

To activate your account, go to https://my.tafensw.edu.au and login with your username and password, which was created as part of the online enrolment process and/or included on your receipt. Call us on 131 601 if you need it to be reset.

Once logged in, change your password and create 3 secret questions and answers.

Speak with customer service staff on campus to get your TAFECard which gives you special access to printing, copying and other services.
