Description: Make your mark as a qualified beautician with the nationally accredited Certificate III in Beauty Services. You will learn a wide range of beauty disciplines including make-up, nails, waxing and brows and develop your ability to consult confidently with clients in a salon environment.


Through theory and practical course-work, you will learn:

The Australian beauty industry is worth billions of dollars and has experienced a decade of uninterrupted growth. Currently there is an identified skills shortage of qualified Beauty Therapists with the industry forecast to continue steady growth to 2023.

At TAFE NSW we provide training that includes hands-on, practical experience. Work placement ensures you have the job ready skills to achieve competency in this course.

We strongly recommend 72 hours of work placement with a suitable industry employer to get the most out of your study, expand your network and get real world experience; however, industry work placement it is not compulsory.

Should you choose to complete the nominated 72 hours in industry, you will need to arrange work placement with a suitable employer. Your teachers will arrange an appointment with you to provide more information.

If you are unable to secure work placement with an industry partner, you will be required to complete 72 hours of clinic work in a simulated workplace environment. This will occur at your campus location during normal class times on a day nominated by your teaching section.

Whether you are enrolled full-time or part-time, it is recommended that you start your work placement in week one (1) from the start date of your enrolment.

WHS requirements include:
• Enclosed black footwear - leather/vinyl with flat sole
• Jewellery to be removed during classes – piercings can be replaced with clear plastic piercings
• Short natural nails - no acrylic or gel extensions

Learners will be required to supply their own models particularly for assessment. Models must be over the age of 18 and for safety reasons, no children are permitted into the salons. Models are to pay for services received.
