Description: This qualification reflects the role of individuals employed as make-up artists to design and apply make-up for a range of purposes and occasions across the beauty, fashion, media and entertainment industries.

These individuals possess a range of well-developed technical and consultation skills where discretion and judgement is required and are responsible for their own outputs. This includes working cooperatively with a range of individuals including photographers, fashion stylists and media production staff.

Work is typically conducted as part of a team or on a freelance basis in settings such as make-up studios, retail cosmetic counters, fashion and media sets and photography studios.

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

TAFE InfoFest. Attend an information session, connect with industry-expert teachers and explore the beauty facilities, at TAFE NSW Wollongong West, Thursday 27 June, 2019. Start time is 2:00pm to 6.00pm. Students who cannot attend the Information Session please make an online enquiry or contact us on 131 601 for more information about the course.

WHS requirements include:
• Enclosed black footwear - leather/vinyl with flat sole
• Jewellery to be removed during classes – piercings can be replaced with clear plastic piercings
• Short natural nails - no acrylic or gel extensions

Learners will be required to supply their own models particularly for assessment. Models must be over the age of 18 and for safety reasons, no children are permitted into the salons. Models are to pay for services received.
