Description: This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have the primary responsibility of engaging the customer, maintaining daily store operations and delivering on organisational expectations. They have sound knowledge of product and service offerings. These individuals possess a range of well-developed skills where discretion and judgement is required. They work with some independence under limited supervision. Some individuals working at this level are responsible for supervising other team members and monitoring day-to-day workplace operations.

The qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick service restaurants.

Individuals with this qualification are able to perform roles such as frontline sales assistant, customer service representative, shop assistant, retail supervisor, team leader and senior sales assistant. 
Entry requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

**STUDY COMMITMENT**

This is a workbased course. This program is designed with a foundation of workplace learning over a period of 2 years.
You will be employed in the retail industry for approximately 35 to 38 hours per week.
The formal knowledge component of the program will be supported through the use of an online Learning Management System through Training Resource Solutions for the SIR Training Package.
There will be 1 scheduled contact via phone to support your understanding of the LMS, 4 scheduled 2 hour workplace visits to support skills assessment as well as 8 x 30min (one per TAFE Term) scheduled managed contact points.
You will build the majority of your skills and knowledge development through your employment on the job.

You may also be required to complete approximately 5 hours of additional study each week outside of work hours.
