Description: This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use a broad range of event-related skills and sound knowledge of event management processes to coordinate event operations. They operate independently and make operational event management decisions.

Events are diverse in nature and this qualification provides a pathway to work for event or exhibition organisations operating in a range of industries, including the tourism and travel, hospitality, sport, cultural, and community sectors.

The diversity of employers includes event or exhibition management companies, event venues, or organisations that organise their own events. Work could be undertaken in an office environment where the planning of events takes place, on-site at venues where events are staged or a combination of both.

Possible job titles include:
conference coordinator event or exhibition coordinator event or exhibition planner event sales coordinator function coordinator in-house meetings coordinator meetings coordinator staging coordinator venue coordinator.

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

You will be required to purchase textbooks and learner guides (approximate cost $200).

To gain the most out of this course students will be asked to volunteer and take part in events that will be outside of their timetabled class. There may also be additional work experience/volunteer work required.

This will be an orientation day where you will be provided with your timetable and a student orientation package. This course is for those students who are over 18 years of age and will undertake the units relating to the sale and supply of liquor. A requirement of this course is to undertake training within the campus simulated restaurant and other off site activities and events. Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete partial or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.
