Description: This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior managers who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with specialised managerial skills and substantial knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate with significant autonomy and are responsible for making strategic business management decisions.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector and for a diversity of employers including restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafs, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multi-skilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming.

Possible job titles include:

An information session will be held on Wednesday 26th of June 2019, in the Twenty Twenty Restaurant, between 10:00am to 1:00pm. This is not compulsory but an opportunity for students to ask questions or assist them with deciding if they would like to enrol in this course. Students who cannot attend the Information Session please make an online enquiry or contact us on 131 601 for more information about the course.

This course is for those students who are looking at a career in front-of-house positions within the tourism and hospitality industry. Students will learn the skills and knowledge to perform restaurant preparation and service, bar operations, espresso coffee, and customer service. Learners will complete the mandatory units required by Liquor and Gaming NSW if working on licenced prermises including; Provide responsible service of alcohol (RSA) and Provide responsible gambling services (RCG). Learners must be 18 years and over if undertaking units where liquor service is a learning outcome. Learners who are under 18 years of age may complete other suitable units.

Application next steps: Your application will now be assessed and we will let you know the outcome. If you indicated you would like a VET Student Loan we will be in touch with you soon to assess your eligibility and to explain how to proceed.

If you do apply for a VET Student Loan you will need to have your Tax File Number (TFN) handy. If you do not have a TFN you can apply for one through most Australia Post outlets, and obtain a Certificate of Application for a TFN. Once you receive your TFN from the Australian Tax Office (ATO) you must contact your college so they can arrange for you to enter it into your VET Student Loan application.

The cost of this course will vary based on your eligibility for a Smart and Skilled Student Fee. Eligibility criteria can be found on the Smart and Skilled website or you can call us on 131 601 for further information and advice.

VET Student Loans are available for this course. The Unit of Study fees below apply if this is not your first qualification. Your actual fee may be less depending on your previous study. We will advise you of any fee reductions you are entitled to before you enrol.
Course fees: $4,630
Fee explanatory text: This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, and as a result your fee is determined through Training Services NSW formal eligibility criteria. This criteria will determine your exact fee. Students who meet additional specified criteria, may be eligible for a concession fee or a fee exemption. In claiming the concession or exemption students will be required to supply the required evidence to support the claim in accord with the requirements of Smart and Skilled eligibility.

Further costs in addition to your student fees may be applicable for this qualification. These costs are to provide you with additional resources and/or Incidentals to support your learning:
RSA Licensing $85.00,
RCG Licensing $30.00,
Uniform (black pants or skirt, black apron, black long sleeved shirt, black leather shoes) approx $100.00, and
Textbook approx $200.00.
